75 SURDO2 DIVES

How

This was phase 2 of the trials, with 25% of the guys using Logged in phase 1, which resulted in a very natural adoption.

A demo and scenario discussion was carried out on the rec room TV for all new guys.

A dedicated test project was also available, allowing supervisors and divers to simulate dive scenarios and practice with the platform. This is a valuable tool that allows guys to get comfortable with the app at their own pace.

To ensure safety and legal compliance, the original paper-based logging process was maintained, while supervisors alternated between Logged and traditional paper logs. This enabled a real-time, side-by-side comparison of both systems throughout the trial. Dive logs created using Logged were reviewed, verified, and signed by both supervisors and divers during live operations, ensuring full compliance with IMCA guidelines.

SurDO2 Process

🧭 Dive supervisors set up a dive in minutes using a template, removing all the repetitive info that would have been handwritten. They select divers from the onboard list and check the last dive details to ensure they’re clear (18 hrs for DCIEM on this project).

📝 During the dive, supervisors work with an intuitive, structured digital dive log.

They capture diver tasks, crane operations, vessel movements, and much more.

Faster than writing it down. Hard to believe, but true. Especially for repetitive log entries, digital systems allow you to update the status, saving you from having to re-enter the entry.

⏱️ In-water deco stops are tracked with timers and intuitive pop-ups that keep everything on point.

📱 Chamber operators run decompression on a separate tablet, with clear timers, alarms, schedules, and dive information to verify the correct tables.

✅ Once complete, everyone involved can digitally sign the dive.

🙏 A big thank you to the guys who are super engaged, eager to learn, and constantly providing valuable feedback.

Highlights

🔄 A supervisor who didn’t like the idea at all…12 hours later, he admitted, “Actually, I like it… It’s better than paper.”

🔎 2 x chamber decompression sheets had errors in the time calculations. Using Logged, in less than a minute, we identified that the error was a calculation issue, and the diver had received the correct deco.
