Logged Completes Second Successful North Sea Trial

23 Jul 2025

Surface Decompression Trial Completed

In July 2025, the second offshore North Sea trial was completed. A major dive company (name pending sign-off) conducted 113 operational working dives, most of which were surface decompression dives. This provided an excellent stress test for the Logged system, which successfully demonstrated its ability to manage multiple tablets and users simultaneously.

Team

4 × IMCA Air Supervisors

24 × Divers / Chamber Operators

How the Test Was Conducted

Supervisors received a training onboard the vessel, with one-on-one support available for additional clarification before, after and during operations as scenarios unfolded. Most became confident using the system within just a few dives.

A dedicated test project was also available, allowing supervisors and divers to simulate dive scenarios and practice with the platform.

To ensure safety and legal compliance, the original paper-based logging process was maintained, while supervisors alternated between Logged and traditional paper logs. This enabled a real-time, side-by-side comparison of both systems throughout the trial. Dive logs created using Logged were reviewed, verified, and signed by both supervisors and divers during live operations, ensuring full compliance with IMCA guidelines.

The dive company committed to Logged by purchasing 5 x iPads and keyboards which will remain onboard for future use.

"Being of a greater age I found it daunting at first but with tuition it became better to use. When the trials were over, I missed having it in DC."

B Robe, IMCA Air Supervisor

"Such a great system once I was taught how to use it.  Feels like diving industry is eventually moving into the modern world with use of technology.  I could set up dives quicker than filling out paper logs."

A Walton , IMCA Air Supervisor
